British Council’s International Dimension

Introduction Global learning is of the essence in this century, as the barriers between nations and people continue to fade. From the food we consume and the business we conduct, everything is interdependent.

Being aware that our lives are becoming ever more global and owing to the fact that, there is a dearth of multicultural learning environment in our school, we are in a place to edify the students that the world doesn’t revolve around the cites they live in, but it encompasses the whole world.

Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar

The Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Education (formerly known as the Ministry of Human Resource Development) of the Government of India. It aims to promote and recognize efforts made by schools across the country in maintaining proper sanitation and hygiene practices.

The initiative is aligned with the larger Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign) which seeks to create a clean and hygienic environment throughout the country.

The Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar program encourages schools to focus on various aspects of cleanliness and hygiene, including clean water availability, proper toilet facilities, waste management, handwashing practices, and overall cleanliness of the school premises. Schools that excel in these areas are rewarded and acknowledged through the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar awards.

The objectives of the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar initiative are:

The initiative follows a competitive process where schools are evaluated based on their performance in various cleanliness and hygiene-related parameters. Schools are categorized into different groups based on their location (urban, rural, and others), and awards are given to the top-performing schools in each category. The awards include recognition certificates, cash prizes, and other incentives to further encourage schools to maintain and improve their sanitation and hygiene practices.

The Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar not only helps in improving the overall cleanliness and hygiene in schools but also instills in students the importance of maintaining a healthy environment.
