KINDERGARTEN - UKG

Building on the foundational skills learned in KG1, our Kindergarten 2 or Upper Kinder Garten (UKG) program focuses on the development of more complex skills, preparing children for the transition to formal education. Following the CBSE guidelines, the curriculum incorporates structured learning activities that promote cognitive development, numerical understanding, and language proficiency. Social-emotional learning is emphasized, ensuring our children develop skills like empathy, cooperation, and self-expression.

Exams and results

At Point Calimere International School, we understand that traditional exam formats may not be the best way to assess the growth and understanding of our young KG2 learners. Instead, we utilize an ongoing, comprehensive, and child-friendly approach to evaluation that prioritizes learning progress over performance.

Our teachers assess children’s development in key areas like social-emotional growth, language and communication skills, cognitive abilities, and physical development. This assessment is carried out through observing children’s participation in class activities, their interaction with their peers, their problem-solving abilities, and their overall attitude towards learning.

Regular feedback is shared with parents throughout the year, allowing them to understand their child’s progress and areas of growth. This approach allows us to focus on the holistic development of each child, fostering a love for learning, curiosity, and self-confidence. We aim to ensure a smooth transition for our KG2 students as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
